SCOPE & CONTENT

            The Charles M. “Bubber” Murphy Collection contains materials pertaining to Murphy’s student athletic career at Middle Tennessee State Teacher’s College (1934-1938) as well as his professional career as both athletic coach and athletic director for Middle Tennessee State College and Middle Tennessee State University.  These materials include published articles, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and programs.  A scrapbook from the 1930s also shares information about Murphy’s athletic feats.  In addition to these materials, documentation pertaining to Murphy’s service in the United States Navy is also included in this collection.
