The Albert Gore, Sr., Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University has a variety of items relating to the history of Old Jefferson, Tennessee, and Jefferson Springs, Tennessee. Old Jefferson was the first county seat for Rutherford County and Jefferson Springs served as a resort area for many middle Tennessee residents from the late 1800s to the early 1960s. In the 1960s, the U.S. Corps of Engineers constructed the J. Percy Priest Dam and Reservoir and flooded most of this area. An attempt has been made to locate all of the relevant materials related to this topic.

The following collections contain materials on Old Jefferson and Jefferson Springs.

The Community Collection

The Hoover Collection (Walter King Hoover)

The Pittard Collection (Homer and Mabel)
