Larry Sizemore remembers his student years at MTSU during
the 1960s.
"I'm a charter member, and our group that year were charter members of C. X, 4th Regiment, Persian Rifles. Now, for our initiation, we had to have a five-foot wooden rifle. We had to paint it blue. We had to get all the members of the drill team to sign it. We had to get all the officers--army officer and NCOs to sign it. We had to get the PMS to sign it. We had to carry a two and a half-gallon bucket of water around with a gold fish in it and keep it alive in our left hand. We had to wear our uniforms with spit-shined boots, and everything, and the rifle at right shoulder arms. Everywhere we went on campus, we had to do that carrying our books and everything." |
