William Sellers
U.S. Navy

William Sellers shares his thoughts on being a fighter pilot in WWII.

"As you look back on it, one of the things about being a naval aviator--it's kind of an antiseptic war.  You didn't see the blood and all that like the land soldiers did, the Marines on taking the islands.  You never saw any of that, you see.  You flew off and dropped your bombs, or whatever you're doing, you came back and had a good meal, a hot shower, and a good place to sleep.  So, it was very enjoyable from that standpoint."
