Ike Farrar
Army Air Corps
World War II

Ike Farrar recalls an incident during his training for the Air Corps during WWII.

"So actually his plane started flat spinning down to earth.  He jumped out of the wing.  He was fixing to parachute down and he found his machine gunner was hung up in the back so he climbs back in on that flat.  That plane was spinning, going down, and got him loose.  See the machine gunner kept two belts on, first cross his legs just like a regular pilot then he had another one that came up and went around his legs so he had --- he would unbuckle the one and use just the one on his legs down there.  So his legs was hung and he went back and got that machine gunner and both of them parachuted to safety.  He should have got a medal for it."
