Buleah Davis discusses her childhood, student years at MTSTC, and teaching career. "When they came to thrash wheat, that was a big day because all the men in the community came. No difference who had wheat to be thrashed, all of them came. The women all came and helped to cook for them because they didn't know that you could put food in a tin basket and carry it away to work. You ate at home when they were working, or you ate wherever you were working. The wheat thrashing was a big deal because there were a lot of people and you had all the table space that you could find set up, but only part of the group could come to eat at once. So your first table ate what was put on the table, and then they filled the dishes again for the next table." |
