Frank Davis served as a fighter pilot flying off carrier
decks during WWII. "I don't know whether I figured it out myself or whether I heard it or what, but somehow, when I got into a fight and began to pull Gs, I would bend over and hold my stomach and scream. You know you've seen little three-year-old kids stand and scream, and get red in the face. Well, blood was going to your head. So I figured if I screamed I would push some blood to my head and I wouldn't black out, which I didn't.

Sam Davis Home in Smyrna.
"But we do work a lot out there because Sam Davis' story is a wonderful story and he's an example for our youth today. If people knew, you know, the people that know about Sam Davis and what he stood for, and we just work hard. Frank's a trustee, and I'm on the Board and we work so hard just trying to keep the doors open with everybody coming and going out there, the children." |
