Bob Couch remembers Camp Forrest in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

"Tullahoma had a population of about 3,000 people at that time.  Within two or three weeks, there were about 15,000 people who came in looking for work as construction workers to help build the camp.  And they slept in cars, and garages, and attics, and everywhere like that, you know--old barns.  And they got jobs.  If they could nail a nail, they'd get a job."
