John Bragg served thirty years in the Tennessee State Legislature.  He shares his thoughts on why people should serve in the political arena.

"Well, the real reason is that politics is the art of government.  And politics and politicians control your life.  They decide the wars you fight, interest you pay, decide the roads you drive on, decide the laws that affect your family.  Politics and politicians control your life.  And what we need is more and better politicians.  Webster defines politics as the art of government, and in this country the individual has got more to say about politics and the art of government than individuals in nearly any other, I don't know of a country that the people have as much to say about their government than America."
