Clarence Puckett, a 1941 MTSTC graduate, recalls faculty and what the campus was like during pre-war years.

"We didn't have no activities much on campus. In the bookstore, you could buy a movie coupon or card.  You could see six movies for $1.00.  The movie house in Murfreesboro then was the Princess Theatre.  You could catch a ride out there on Main and Tennessee Boulevard, and hitchhike uptown, and go up there.  When you hitchhiked back to the campus, we would stand in front of the First Baptist Church.  There would be a whole group out there.  It wasn't too much trouble hitchhiking, always someone willing to stop and pick up a carload."
