Mary Kate Cope, wife of former MTSU President Quill Cope,
remembers her years at MTSU.
"Now, as far as rearing our children on campus, it was wonderful for them. They had the whole front yard for a baseball diamond and everything else. But my husband was brought up with a good work ethic, and he insisted that our boys, when they were old enough, learn all kinds of work so they would appreciate what other people did. In the summertime, they rode the garbage pickup truck. I mean literally stood on the back of the garbage, and hopped off, and poured into the receptacles and whatever." |
