SCOPE AND CONTENT

The James Gillespie Collection covers primarily the period from 1942 to 1973 and relates to Gillespie Airways and Gillespie’s aviation career. The collection is approximately 28.25 linear feet. It includes correspondence, accounts and ledgers, logs and logbooks, aviation advertisements, news clippings, flight charts and maps, reports on airplanes, artifacts collected by Gillespie and from Gillespie Airways, aviation related publications and serial publications, such as AERO Digest, Aviation Week, and Flight Magazine. In addition, the collection has photographs of Gillespie Airfield and different images of airplanes.
