The Albert A. Gore, Sr., Research Center  at Middle Tennessee State University has numerous individual collections that relate to broad subject areas on the Civil War. An attempt has been made to include a description for every pertinent document or group of documents regarding this topic. The various collections are predominantly regional and focus mainly on the perspective of the Civil War in Rutherford County. The Gore Center strongly encourages anybody and everybody interested in the Civil War to visit and examine all of our available materials.

The following collections contain varying degrees of materials on the Civil War. Some, such as the Pittard Collection, are quite extensive. Others, like the Community Collection, contain only a few items. The links that are offered are the general scope and content  information that one can also find on the Albert A.
