SCOPE AND CONTENT

The William M. Beasley Collection covers primarily the period from 1955 to 1987 and relates to the history of Middle Tennessee State University and Beasley’s tenure as Professor of English. The collection is approximately 7.5 linear feet. From 1955 to 1987, William Beasley served as professor of English at Middle Tennessee State University. The William Beasley Collection includes class materials from the 1970s and 1980s, items related to or about literature and poems, the 75th Anniversary of MTSU materials, and items on the development of the Doctorate of Arts program at MTSU. In addition, the collection contains memorabilia from the 1930s and 1940s, such as articles on MTSTC Football. Also, the collection has notes and writings pertaining to Beasley’s research for his thesis and dissertation.
