SERIES DESCRIPTIONS

Series 1:  Operational Records (2 boxes, 21 folders)

This series contains meeting minutes for the years 1971-1979, 1979-1988, and 1989-1997.  Both state and chapter APTA Bylaws are also part of this series.  The bulk of this series is the Rutherford County Chapter APTA annual files (1977-1980, 1985-1994, 1997-2005), which include meeting agendas, annual reports, correspondence, meeting notices, membership rosters, minutes, and treasury reports. 

Important Note about Series 1:  Before 1985, the Rutherford County APTA maintained their records within a series of three books.  One book contains the board and membership meeting minutes from years 1971 to 1977.  A second folder holds a portion of the minutes and membership rosters for the years 1979, 1982, and 1985-1989.  A third record book documents meetings from 1989 to 1997.  After 1997, the group began grouping their minutes with other organizational records within annual file folders.  None of the annual file folders for the years 1977 to 1997 contain minutes.  They are housed separately in their respective books, as mentioned earlier.

Series 2:  Publications (1 box, 5 folders)

This Publications series holds various APTA state and chapter newsletters.  Among the state publications are the “APTA Headquarters Bulletin,” the “APTA News,” “The Historic Marker,” and “The Intercom.”  The chapter newsletter in this series are the “Belle Meade Plantation Columns” (Nashville Chapter APTA), “The Cragfont Chronicle” (Sumner County APTA), and the “Donelson-Hermitage Chapter APTA News.”

Series 3:  Miscellaneous (1 box, 6 folders)

A variety of items and documents make up the Miscellaneous series.  Among those are a computer floppy disk entitled “APTA Address and Logo,” APTA brochures, a 1997 APTA calendar, Undated APTA minutes & rosters, a Charity Circle membership roster, and Oaklands Historic House Museum Council By-Laws.

The Rutherford County Chapter APTA Collection contains 23 photographs, all of which are housed separately from the main collection.
