Early Schools

Throughout the years, a number of schools served the citizens of Smyrna.  But one school stood the longest as a fixture in the community.  Referred to by most as the Old Rock School, Smyrna's first high school opened as a public school in 1912.  The school operated at times as both elementary and high school until it closed in 1976.  The following is a timeline of key events related to the history of the Old Rock School.
