RCHS Records
Series 1: Minutes
This series contains the minutes from the 1966 organizational meeting and
the minutes from RCHS meetings 1970-1999.
Series 2: Financial
This series contains financial statements, bank statements, and check stubs
of the RCHS. There are various dates ranging from 1974-1998.
Series 3: Membership
Ranging from the 1970s through the 1990s, this series contains
correspondence, presentations, and projects carried out by members, as well as
member index cards, and RCHS stationary and templates.
Series 4: Founding Documents/Awards
This series contains RCHS resolution and incorporation papers, by-laws, and
certificates from the 1970s-1990s.
Series 5: Numbered
Publications
This series contains the numbered publications produced by the RCHS from
1973 to approximately 1997. These publications contain a wide variety of
historical information on Rutherford County. Included in this series are also
several camera ready (proof) copies of many numbered publications from the 1970s
and 1980s. There are also some misc. loose materials used to create certain

Series 6: Frow Chips
This series contains the RCHS newsletter called Frow Chips,
starting at Volume 1 in 1971 and continuing to the present. There is also a
folder of misc. materials used in certain Frow Chips. To search Frow

Series 7: Other Publications
This series contains publications created by the RCHS that differ from the
Numbered Publications because they are dedicated to a specific topic. Dates
range from the 1970s to 2005. Several of these publications are in camera ready
(proof) form, but please note the Gore Center has bound copies of many of these
other publications shelved in the front office.
Series 8: Audio
This series contains cassette tapes of oral history interviews of local
people and speeches given at various local history gatherings. The recordings
date from 1978-1981. Among the most interesting are interviews with Eddie
Arnold, whose father was a Confederate P.O.W., Preston Ford who was one of the
first WWI draftees in Rutherford Co., and a documentary program on Grand Ole
Opry star Uncle Dave Macon.
Series 9: Microfilm
This series contains 4 reels of microfilm containing Rutherford County wills
from the 19th century and Lavergne Presbyterian Church records from
1887-1972.
