SCOPE AND CONTENT

The John A. McFarland Collection was donated to the Albert Gore, Sr. Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University in the Spring of 2004.  Memorabilia primarily covering the period from 1927 to 1982 and relating to McFarland’s experiences as a journalist, as a community volunteer, and as a supporter of Middle Tennessee State University comprise the 2.09 linear feet of the collection.  The John A. McFarland Collection consists of diplomas, certificates, correspondence, and plaques that document his experiences as a journalist, as a resident of Murfreesboro, and as a supporter of Middle Tennessee State University.
