Abernathy Collection (Bob Abernathy)

• Bob Abernathy served MTSU from 1947 until 1972 active in recruitment and placement.  Abernathy made over 2,500 speaking appearances as ambassador for MTSU.

Beasley Collection (Horace Beasley)

• Horace Beasley was a professor of music and director of the Band of Blue at MTSU.

Beasley, William Collection (William Beasley)

• Correspondence, notes, and teaching materials of former MTSU Professor of English 

• Lane Boutwell served as a professor in the English and Speech and Theatre departments during his time at Middle Tennessee State College (MTSC) between 1947 and 1974.  Marguerite taught kindergarten and first grade at the Campus School until 1972.  The materials in this collection pertain to MTSC Theatre, early childhood education, Sunday school curriculum, the Sam Davis Development Corporation’s documents related to Meadow Brook subdivision in Smyrna, and the Sam Davis Home. 

Davis Collection (Buleah Davis)

• Teaching material and photographic slides of former instructor in the Physical Education Department from 1946 until 1980.

• Correspondence, local music clubs publications, family papers of former member of MTSU faculties of music and foreign language

Harrison Collection (Dot Harrison)

• Correspondence, publicity campaigns and event information of former Director of Development and Communications Marketing at MTSU from 1974 until her retirement in December of 2000.

Hinton Collection (T. Earl Hinton)

• Former MTSU Professor of Music. Papers, memos, miscellaneous items related to the faculty senate, planning for the 75th anniversary of MTSU, other areas of faculty and university operations from approximately 1983-1986. 

Homer Pittard Campus School Collection

• The Homer Pittard Campus School Collection includes photos, videos, scrapbooks, yearbooks, and a variety of other documents and memorabilia produced or used by the school between 1938 and 2004. 

• Former MTSU Faculty Senate President and Professor of History

• Inside Academia, a program produced by Economics Professor Dr. Richard Hannah for MTSU's Cable Channel 9, profiles the activities and interests of MTSU faculty, administrators, and students, as well as visiting scholars.

Kappa Alpha Collection

• Contains photos, newspaper clippings, letters, and other documents related to the early years of Phi Epsilon and the Delta Lambda chapter of Kappa Alpha.  These scrapbooks span the years 1962 through approximately 1972.

MTSU AAUP Collection

• The MTSU chapter of the American Association of University Professors Collection contains organizational records, reports and resolutions, publications, and correspondence with the national and state divisions contained in this collection are broad in scope, spanning from approximately 1966 to 1995.  Amassed over many years by an unknown number of executive council members, the materials, though incomplete, are representative of the chapter’s chief operations. 

MT Athletics Collection

• The Middle Tennessee Athletics Collection contains materials pertaining to the university’s male athletic history and ranges from the 1930s to the 1990s. 

MT-Scene

• MTSU telecast hosted by Dorothy Harrison, former director of Public Relations

• Photographs and scrapbooks donated by alumni. 

• MTSU budget records from 1936 - 1990. 

• Photographs, scrapbooks, bound newspapers, press releases, clippings, ledgers, minutes, and notes accumulated by that office during the years it was directed by Gene Sloan and Dorothy Harrison.

Murphy Collection (Charles "Bubber" Murphy)

• Former football coach and athletic director

• Former Director of Alumni Relations, MTSU

• Records of History honor society, MTSU Chapter

• Records of  honor society,  MTSU Chapter.

• Records of the MTSU Faculty Organization

• Dr. Bob Bullen, Professor of Educational Leadership, produced a series of oral history programs called Recollections for MTSU's Cable Channel 9 during the 1980s and 1090s.  Featured guests included long-time MTSU employees, veterans, and well-know figures such as Albert Gore, Sr., Jean Faircloth MacArthur, and Roy Acuff.

Schardt Collection (Elizabeth Schardt)

• Eugene Holloway Sloan was a professor of Business Law and director of Public Relations at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  He served the university for 28 years and the documents in the collection cover the period from 1946 to 1987 during his tenure at MTSU.

• MTSU student 1911-1913 and MTSU president 1938-1958, and state and local civic leader until his death in 1976.  Thirty cubic feet of correspondence, reports, speeches, clippings, notes, surveys, and other documentation of the first three quarters of the twentieth century in Murfreesboro. 
• Q.M. Smith/MTSU Oral History Collection  One hundred and thirty-eight interviews (transcribed) with persons who had been affiliated with Q. M. Smith and MTSU between 1917 and 1968 

Strickland Collection (Roscoe Strickland)

• Former Civic Leader and MTSU Professor of History who brought case against Rutherford County that forced reapportionment of county school districts.  The collection includes correspondence, books, photographs, presentations, notes, and other documents.

• Yearbooks, literary publications, newsletters, minutes, ledgers, and notes 

Vocational Technical Education Collection

• Photocopies of materials pertaining to the Department of Music at MTSU.  Both served on the Music faculty for many years.
